Born and raised in Alaska, Jessi is well-acquainted with the unique operating conditions of the Last Frontier. Over the years, she has had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of Alaska organizations, both as an audit senior at the Anchorage accounting firm Mikunda, Cottrell & Co., and as a partner here at Sun Mountain.
Jessi focuses particularly on non-profit and governmental organizations, and her clients include the City of Kotzebue, the City of King Cove, Yakutat Tlingit Tribe, Abused Women’s Aid in Crisis, and the Alaska Zoo. Jessi’s education took her all over the world, from California to England to Israel. Although a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master’s in creative writing may seem like strange bedfellows, Jessi’s creative and calm approach to solving difficult accounting issues draws from both disciplines. Jessi is committed to providing her clients with the support and expertise they need to succeed. She is adept at assessing a situation, developing a plan of action, and assisting management and the accounting department in implementation. She can also provide ongoing monthly or quarterly support including general ledger maintenance and grant administration. She loves to travel across the state, and takes every opportunity to appreciate all that a community has to offer. So don’t be surprised if she asks you to take her fishing. When she’s not accounting, you can generally find Jessi journeying to far-off lands or in an Anchorage coffee shop working on the next Great American Novel. |
